El Racetrack for the Zarzuela, Madrid inaugurates its classic afternoon races in June, an event that is received with special enthusiasm this year, after such difficult months. In De Salas We are fervent admirers of the world of horses and we could not miss the opportunity to remind our clients and friends of this and other events that we can enjoy at the venue.
The spring season began on March 7 with days of six races every month and seven carreers in the days of June. We will continue to focus on the classic generation with the programming of numerous races for “maidens” and new handicaps for three years. As a novelty, the Racetrack has scheduled handicaps and category C sales races as alternatives to the Grand Prix for high-level horses, with the Madrid Grand Prix, which will be held on June 26, remaining the most important on the calendar.
Returning to the afternoon races, the first will take place on Saturday June 5 with a special Derby-Oaks day, which will be followed on the 12th of the same month with the Gran Premio Urquijo y Premio Racetrack of the Castellana. On June 19 there will be the Carudel Grand Prix and Martorell Prize, and on the 26th the aforementioned Grand Prix of Madrid.
This 2021 season will be the 80th anniversary season of the Racetrack of La Zarzuela, and celebrates it under the claim We are the Hippodrome of Madrid. The event has had a Commemorative Seal, presented at the time by the president of Post and that the entity dedicates together with a series of urban architecture with which Filatelia pays tribute to the great works of our time, highlighting the value of the roofs, one of the fundamental reasons for converting the Racetrack en Heritage.
Until May 30, you can still enjoy the races that are held on Sundays from eleven in the morning to three in the afternoon. But we will have to wait until Thursday, July 1 to immerse ourselves in the magical nights of the Racetrack. There will be a double day all month on Thursdays and Saturdays, also including Thursdays, August 5 and 26, in a complete calendar of twelve highly successful night dates in past seasons. There will be a total of 60 races to be held on the sand track.
El Racetrack is committed to safe and responsible leisure, as its Marketing Director assures, “we must go step by step as the health situation improves and restrictions are eliminated, we are the Madrid Hippodrome and we have a 100% commitment to the health of the people of Madrid. We will continue with a capacity of 50% until new order of the Ministry of Health of the Community of Madrid.” Leisure and entertainment will be focused on sports competition and gastronomy.
