July 20 marks 50 years since man landed on the Moon, a milestone that has not been repeated but that made us dream of a space future. We tend to “humanize” or “personalize” the unknown, attributing to it shapes, volumes, colors, smells and maybe even flavors that are familiar to us. The highlands of the moon can be seen perfectly represented in Cappadocia, in Turkey's historic Central Anatolia. They call it the “fairy chimneys” and its soft rock is the result of centuries of volcanic eruptions, wind and rain. There are those who travel by balloon to appreciate the immensity of this World Heritage Site. Others walk through the area of ​​the Göreme Valley. No matter what, contemplating it leaves you speechless.
The moon is full of mysteries, but without a doubt what arouses most curiosity is the topic of the lunar seas. He Uyuni Salt Flats, in the south of Bolivia, is currently the largest salt flat in the world and can be said to be the best terrestrial version of the Sea of ​​Tranquility, where Apollo 20 landed on July 1969, 11. It is a picture of the moon with earth colors. The Valley of the Moon, in the Atacama Desert of Chile, is one of the most faithful reflections of the lunar surface on our planet: it has both highlands and plains full of rocks, holes and rocky esplanades, and allows you to appreciate an impressive sunset, which only this southern end of the country can offer. world.
