The XVI Edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale It will begin next May 26 and we will be able to enjoy it until November 25, six months where art, transformed into architecture, will be experienced in the streets and canals of the most romantic city in Italy. This year the name the organization has chosen is Freespace, and it will be curated by Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara and organized by The Venice Biennale chaired by Paolo Baratta and which includes other artistic manifestations.
With the aim of promoting the “desire” of architecture, this edition focuses on the question of space, its quality, open space… And it is that Public space can also reveal the presence or absence of architecture, if we understand that architecture is "thought applied to the space in which we live, that we inhabit.", as President Baratta explained.
Located in the Central Pavilion (Giardini) and the Arsenale, it includes 71 participants and will meet around two special sections, a first where projects that originate from reflections on well-known buildings of the past will be addressed, and a second focused more to teaching, based on the invention and creativity that is discovered in historical buildings, forgotten, revisited and brought back to life, and where the infrastructure needs that end up translating into public and civic facilities will be analyzed.
The Exhibition will also include 63 national participations in the historic pavilions of the Giardini, in the Arsenale and in the historic city center of Venice. Seven countries will participate in the Architecture Biennale for the first time: Antigua and Barbuda, Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, Lebanon, Pakistan and the Holy See (with its own pavilion located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore).
Performances and representations, talks and colloquiums, exhibitions and presentations, all artistic manifestations will come together in Venice, a city that breathes history and where each of its buildings is a work of art in itself.
Enjoying this event will become an enjoyment and delight if you stay at the The Westin Europa & Regina, an extraordinary hotel with its own pier and one of the most spectacular views of Venice for 637 euros per night.
El hotel Palazzo Venart It is another of the luxurious and classic options to experience Venice in a special way, at the foot of the grand canal, with exquisite attention to detail and for 451 euros per night.
Choose the hotel San Clemente Palace Kempinski It is another sure hit, with all kinds of services, a spa and restaurant for the most demanding and the most elegant and sophisticated way to admire the city, from 520 euros per night.
And in short, Venice is art and walking its canals is taking a leap into history. And surely many of our clients will find inspiration touring this exhibition of art and culture.
