PHotoSpain fills the streets again , photography, contests and proposals, with initiatives for all tastes. And in De Salas We are very excited to share this news with our clients and friends, first because we love the photography and any discipline that advocates art. And then, of course, because it implies that life continues to settle into this new normal.
On June 25, what the organization itself PHotoSpain called “the largest neighborhood in the world”, or what is the same, the outdoor exhibitions under the hastagh #PHEfrommybalcony in the 50 Spanish cities that participate, a compendium of each and every one of the images made by their neighbors during the confinement on the occasion of the online contest that took place in those weeks.
But in addition to walking the streets of towns and provinces, you can also visit exhibitions within spaces dedicated to art, again something that continues to make us very excited because of what it entails. And the samples they present are as interesting as they are varied.
Images that take us to Antarctica but also remind us of the figure of Dalí, art and fashion retrospectives, pure Japanese photography, body worship, the streets of Madrid, the world of refugees or everyday images that appear next to us and go unnoticed by the eyes of those of us who are worldly when it comes to capturing the essence in a photograph.
At OFF Festival You can vote for your favorite online exhibition, and it is a delight to walk through the proposals that have also been shared by some of the most important art galleries, who have wanted to show their support in this way for the normal, or almost, development of one of the most international initiatives. how is PHotoSpain.
In addition, this year, there will be three guest venues, the Leica Gallery from Madrid with a wonderful review of the iconic photographs, many in black and white, of Elliot Erwitt; the Institute of Mexico, which with its proposal “Every line is a route, every route leads to a point” brings together the work of the artist Emilio Rojas, and the Royal Photographic Society, which with the exhibition “Ritual May” by photographer Juanjo Albarrán invites us to reflect on the various ways in which the rebirth of life is celebrated with the arrival of spring.
And as usual, the students of the Master PHotoSpain in photography, present their final year projects in a group exhibition that can be visited throughout the duration of the exhibition, which will be until October 31.
Another year, in De Salas We echo this wonderful exhibition that is PHotoSpain, although we will remember this one, perhaps with more affection if possible, because there were moments when it seemed that it could not come to be.
