Formula 1 is coming to Madrid

Apr 5, 2024 | Lifestyle

After more than four decades, we can finally confirm that one of the most exciting sporting events in the world chooses Madrid as the city to celebrate it and today we have prepared for our friends and clients of De Salas all the information to be able to enjoy this great event. world event in the capital: the Formula 1 Madrid Grand Prix.

We started!

Formula 1 is a clear example that sport and entertainment can be combined into one, beyond football, and we will be able to enjoy all of this in the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2026 to 2035. Where? You may be wondering. Well, at the IFEMA fairgrounds.

For this, a 5,47 km semi-urban circuit has been designed that includes 20 curves in its layout, a qualifying lap of 1 minute and 32 seconds, 2 tunnels and a slope of 10 meters, in which the maximum speed will be 320 km per hour with 4 overtaking zones and will have capacity for 110.000 spectators.

The layout will use IFEMA MADRID roads, both from the current site and the future ones on the Valdebebas plot, in addition to just 1,5 km of public roads.

Although it is still a project that is pending approval by the FIA, the International Automobile Federation, we have believed that this event is another reason to think of Madrid as your city to live in where you have a wide range of gastronomy. , education, fashion, leisure, culture and training and now, in addition, the Formula 1 Madrid Grand Prix.

This project will have exceptional facilities, never imagined at the service of the Madrid Grand Prix. Among its technical characteristics we highlight more than 200.000 m2 of covered pavilions; 10.000 meters of multipurpose meeting spaces and 10.000 parking spaces.

All of these infrastructures will be equipped with the latest technology and advanced security, communication and air conditioning systems that will make this experience an unforgettable and historic event for both participants and attendees.

Covered and air-conditioned paddocks and large experiential areas have been planned for Formula 1 fans.

To this end, new buildings will be added to the IFEMA venue, which will extend pavilions 1 and 2, to house the most exclusive Paddock Club, and which can be enjoyed throughout the year and not only during the event.

It will be perfectly connected and accessible thanks to the entire transport network and infrastructure that the city of Madrid has, this being one of the compelling reasons for choosing it as the venue for this competition. Without forgetting the high hotel capacity that the capital has to accommodate all those who want to travel to Madrid to experience F1 live. According to studies, the arrival of 85.000 tourists is estimated.

The 2026 race will be the first F1 race in Madrid since 1981, when they were held at the Jarama Circuit and we are sure that it will be a success.

We put the brakes on our video today and return in 7 more days with much more of the De Salas lifestyle.
